Thinking back on posts from last blog...

Starting with Lefty pointing out the need for drafting elite wingers. I can agree with this if a C is not there for us. I’d always defer to taking a C being they convert easily to the wing. It’s very seldom a winger IMO is the best option to pick high in a draft. It HAS to be a win to be justified.

Our depth at C can be improved since it drives play & scoring is todays game.

D is where we are in need of most. Hughes is a wonderful pick & Woo may be the rugged complimentary type of pairing D we can use going forward. OJ should be rounding out to make his debut late this season or next. That is my hope lol

With all of the above considered we should see some trades upcoming. Without fully knowing JB’s master plan nor who he sees as expendable I’ll add my 2 bits.

The addition of Leivo has changed the dynamics & he looks to be a good add.
Motte has impressed & fitting in nicely.
No solution for LE other than he poops or gets off the pot & Robidas Island looms.
Sven & Goldy both i could live without for the right deal being high picks preferred.
The rest of the F’s are staying for obvious reasons. Sutter is a tough decision but is valuable to us & moved if a no-brainer.

D is as we all know our achilles heal. Quantity & not Quality stands out most. Consistency is non existent & scoring is a black hole that does not improve & needs a shake-up. Their 1st pass & ability to skate out of the D zone is poor to say the least. Pressure exposes them all too often. We have sufficient complimentary D men given they need a better partner to compliment. Hutton has made big strides but it ends there. MDZ is a plug. Pouliot cannot figure it out. Stecher is full of effort but stuck in mud giving us any offence. EG is here to stay with Edler & Tanev both being good compliments but not much for offence.
